A man of many interests in life, Florent Malouda proved to be highly enthusiastic about the Olympics when he answered our questionnaire on the famous games…
What are your early Olympic memories?
I watched a few videos of the France victory in the football in the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984 because my former manager at Guingamp, Guy Lacombe played in that side, and also the victories of Carl Lewis, the sprinter. For me the Olympics are all about the 100 metres.
Will you watch this summer's games?
Of course! I was recently at the French embassy because the French athletes came here to discover the Olympic Village and I will be involved in the French delegation and will be supporting them. I know a few athletes so it is going to be a very massive moment and I feel very lucky to live in the city where the Olympics will happen.
Who are the Olympians you know?
I have met a few athletes with the French delegation. I have met the taekwondo athlete Gwladys Epangue (pictured below). There is Laura Flessel who is doing her fifth Olympics in fencing and they describe it as a unique moment in their career so it is very special, it does not compare to any other championship.

They were a non-league club when they won their first FA Cup title in 1901, the only team ever to achieve this and probably the reason why they are so synonymous with the competition to this day. That was the first of eight FA Cup titles, to which they have added two League Championships (1951 and 1961 - the year they did the Double), three League Cups, two Uefa Cups and the Cup Winners Cup.The team has not been the force of old in recent years but they hope to build a side capable of winning trophies both at home and abroad.
Emmanuel Adebayor has called on Tottenham to show they are still capable of winning
the Barclays Premier League by bouncing back from their hammering at Arsenal with a victory over Manchester United this weekend.
Spurs went into Sunday's game at the Emirates Stadium confident of doing the double over their rivals for the first time in 19 years but they went down to a humiliating 5-2 loss after a stunning comeback from the Gunners.
But Adebayor has backed his team-mates to bounce back, and told Spurs TV Online: "If you want to be champions these games against the likes of Manchester United are the kind of games we have to be winning. The Arsenal game has been a tough one, the defeat is very heavy, but we have to carry on. "
He added: "We have to keep focused. We have to show character in front of our fans and manage to win that game."
